Have you ever wondered what your home is worth?  Maybe you’re wondering if you could sell and payoff your loan without owing anything.  Zillow is a website that offers free AVM’s:  Automated Valuation Model.  This is an estimate of what your home is worth based on sales in your area.  Each company has a variety of parameters they use to value the property.  This is not an formal appraisal as done by a licensed appraiser and no one comes to your house!    They simply use the information that can be gleaned from the public record and proprietary information to arrive at a value.  From my own testing, they generally come within 10% of my own estimates.  Not bad for getting an idea of what your home is worth.  It’s free, give it a try it:  http://www.zillow.com/
